One of our favourite places to go here in Bath is the American Museum (www.americanmuseum.org).
In 1989 we made a pair of large 28" dolls, Elizabeth and Jacob (pictured top right). They were inspired by the wonderful early paintings of children in the folk gallery of the American Museum in Britain. A few years later we made series 2 of Early American Children which were just 12 inches (pictured bottom right).
Looking at these lovely images again we decided to make a third series of Early American Children for our Collectors Club. These are much smaller dolls, just 7 inches on the all jointed all-bisque bodies like those of the Little Friends (continued next page).
