'New Interpretations' - 1

This doll was the first of our 'New Interpretations' she is now sold, but we have keep the pages as an archive of our one of-a-kind versions.

In 1997 we made two special versions of our club doll Holly for a NIADA show in the States, they were 18", larger than the club doll and with wooden bodies rather than all bisque. We had made one more head of the Holly that we didn't use at the time. Now she has a body and I have dressed her in a special outfit with a similar feel to the original two.

I have used vintage softly falling viscose fabric from the 40's, the blouse is embroidered linen and she has a little knitted cardigan over. As I did for the two in 1997, I have made a little bag, very much like a vanity case I had as a child, cardboard covered with mock snake-skin paper, it is lined and inside there is a little dressed bear.
